Packaging & Industrial Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Packaging & Industrial Engineer to join our team. This position can either be located in Toledo, OH or Plymouth, MI.

Job Responsibilities of the Packaging & Industrial Engineer:

  • Manage the design, development, testing, procurement and validation of automotive (or similar) packaging.
  • Review and improve existing packaging designs.
  • Works with plants in layout, materials flow and tie studies to determine indirect labor requirements.
  • New model/ Current Model packaging:
    • Act as liaison between company and packaging suppliers.
    • Assist in providing packaging quotes
    • Participate in APQP meetings (Kick-off and PPAP)
    • Track and provide packaging timing.
    • Design, develop and test returnable and expendable packaging.
    • Complete and submit packaging forms to customers
    • Assist in system days and fleet size calculations
    • Creation and tracking of Program Appropriations Requests
    • Quote and procure fleets
  • Provide Part Packaging Worksheet to plants
  • Participate in quarterly expandable packaging reviews at plants
  • Maintain a centralized inventory and be gate keeper for containers available in the company
  • Assist in budget development for repair and replacement of packaging
  • Assist in developing an annual new model launch packaging budget
  • Lead cost-save initiatives on packaging and materials flow
  • Create and maintain plant layouts using AutoCad 2020
  • Develop materials flow analysis to determine capacity and warehouse locations
  • Support lean initiatives on the plant floor

Minimum Qualifications Packaging & Industrial Engineer:

• Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Degree required.

• Three (3) years or more experience in a complex Tier 1 or Tier 1 Automotive OEM parts production facility.

• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, PackAssistant, Magix

Plant Controller

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced controller to join our team.

The Controller is responsible for the preparation and implementation of financial guidelines for the plant. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

The primary responsibility will be preparation of daily, weekly, monthly reports, moth end closing, hourly payroll and accounts payable.

Controller Job Functions:

  • Prepare monthly / full year forecasts
  • Prepare and review monthly financial results
  • Processing the hourly payroll
  • Processing the accounts payable
  • Manage and track fixed asset acquisitions
  • Complete month-end and year-end closings of the financial records
  • Support annual budget and long range plan process

Controller Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • 2-5 years general ledger accounting experience is required.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Strong Excel experience preferred

MP&L Release & Follow-up Analyst

We have an excellent opportunity for experienced Material Planning &Logistics Release & Follow-Up Analyst to join our team in Fayetteville, TN.

  • Responsible for inventory accuracy by monitoring and maintaining in-bound inventory from suppliers to support established inventory policies for buffer calculations, safety stock and material needed to support production.
  • Responsible for maintaining and communicating an accurate forecast to suppliers at the latest revision level required.
  • Monitor, track and trace all inbound shipments from suppliers.
  • Perform root cause inventory analysis for inventory discrepancies for components and manufacturing items.
  • Lead system record integrity through cycle count, root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
  • Maintain production planning, inventory levels, safety stock and various key data fields that drive master planning are up to date in ERP system.
  • Support program and part balance out ensuring engineering changes are incorporated timely and bank builds are in place per the agreed to effectivity of change.
  • Ensure changes are captured in systems to properly reflect latest Bills of Material for ordering of component parts and ensure adequate purchase orders and contracts are at latest level.
  • Effectively supports and understands the plant build schedule, BOM verification, buffer calculations, change control and supplier material ordering.
  • Maintain positive relationship with suppliers.
  • Participate in plant physical inventory as required.
  • Shall adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices such as; utilizing personal protective equipment and proper attire in keeping with safety standards.
  • Comply with all ISO/TS 16949 & ISO-14001 procedures.
  • Perform all other functions as required; included are any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within TMD, Inc.

MP&L Release & Follow-Up Analyst Qualifications:

· One (1) year or more experience in a complex Tier 1 or Tier 1 Automotive OEM parts production facility.

· Inventory control experience including cycle counting.

· Knowledge of Future 3/MAPICS or similar systems.

Maintenance Technician

TMD has an opening for experienced Maintenance Technicians to join our team at Fayetteville, TN plant.

Maintenance Technicians Requirements:

•3+ years of manufacturing and facilities maintenance , preferably in automotive parts manufacturing and/or blow molding required

•Must have basic experience in programming/troubleshooting A-B PLC controlled systems and hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair in the following areas: electrical/electronic systems, and pneumatics

•Strong background in hydraulic systems repair/troubleshooting is required

•must be able to work any shift

Production Scheduler

We have an excellent opportunity for experienced Scheduler to join our team in Fayetteville, TN.

Scheduler Responsibilities:

•Creates production scheduling plan for the plant to meet customer requirements

•Analyze current production schedule to assess current production status (behind schedule, increases)

•Responsible for inventory accuracy on finished goods and WIP

•Schedules each job with standard manpower for each

•Schedules mold changes as required

•Maintain inventory levels in order to meet production schedule

•Contact supplier on open releases which affect the raw materials

Tool & Die Maker

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced tool and die maker to join our team in Fayetteville, TN.

The successful candidate must be capable of reading and analyzing blue prints or sketches in order to maintain/repair injection/bold molds, design and fabricate gauges, jigs and fixtures. Must be experienced in new mold startup, sampling, troubleshooting, optimizing cycles and be experienced with a wide range of molding machines (150 – 3500 ton presses). The successful candidate shall maintain an understanding of current technology as related to job responsibilities. Good communication skills are a must.

Maintenance Technician

We have an opening for a Maintenance Technician at its Bowling Green, Ohio facility.

Maintenance Technician Requirements:
•5+ years of manufacturing and facilities maintenance, preferably in automotive parts manufacturing and/or blow molding required
•Must have basic experience in programming/troubleshooting A-B PLC controlled systems
•Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair in the following areas: electrical/electronic systems, and pneumatics

Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is directly responsible for overseeing the efforts of the maintenance mechanics on the afternoon/evening shifts who install, repair or service property or machinery. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and direct maintenance activities in the facilities and production areas and services in order to obtain optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications.

The primary responsibilities will be to ensure facilities and equipment is maintained to ensure safe and efficient production.

The Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor will be required to support multiple projects, IATF 16949 standards, safety, and product improvements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of utilities

Manufacturing Engineer

We have an excellent opportunity for experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join our team in Bowling Green, OH.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Participate in identifying open items issues
  • Evaluate and implement process/product improvements
  • Work with the team to develop tooling and poka yoke methods
  • Authorize engineering change notices (deviations), process alerts, purchase orders, equipment spare parts inventory, and personnel training requests
  • Support plant safety rules, procedures and standards
  • Involved with assigned project launch strategies, capital needs, program timing in support of all APQP, PPAP, and ISO/TS16949 requirements
  • Continuous improvement of assembly and molding processes and trouble-shooting of blow molding equipment.
  • Position offers the opportunity to get involved in APQP through team participation, planning new processes to achieve high efficiency and quality.
  • Manufacturing engineer will lead the Kaizen efforts utilizing multi-disciplined teams.

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – technical required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Product launch exposure a plus.
  • Blow molding experience required. Four-year mechanical engineering or electrical engineering degree is required.

Process Technician

The Process Technician will be responsible for providing technical support for all aspects of production. Responsibility for new products begins with the first production build via customer production releases.

The primary responsibilities will be to troubleshoot injection and blow molding process and make adjustments to the process to increase overall quality and productivity goals as established thereby obtaining optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications.

In addition, the Process Technician will assist in achieving product target cost; improve efficiency, identifying possible production problems for existing products. Monitor the input and output variables of the process, including advanced product inspection, optimizing product and process quality consistent with the company’s Total Quality Systems, procedures and customer requirements.

Job Functions

  • Support and enforce with consistency the plant safety process and rules, local labor agreement and Toledo Molding & Die policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for all pre-production builds requiring components and/or services from the manufacturing site.
  • Assist with training of both technical and production in processing standards.
  • Ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications and approved processes.
  • Assure that production schedules are met. Act with a high sense of urgency, in particular with respect to customer needs.
  • Achieve project expectation and requirements for all elements of PPAP, TS16949 and ISO 14000.
  • Weekly program status reports (i.e., performance, open items, corrective action plans, etc.).
  • Maintain technical log for product/processes assigned, as required.
  • Maintain records for primary tools (molds) and selected secondary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot injection molding process and correct where deviant. Adjust closed-loop process control systems where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot robotic unloading; provide enhancements to increase robot system efficiency and performance.
  • Enhance the process to increase cycle efficiency, press performance, tool performance, operator performance, and material performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues with secondary equipment (post molding assembly)
  • Provide technical instructions to maintain part stability.
  • Provide detailed and structured documentation of process corrections and enhancements as required and/or assigned.
  • Measure outputs and evaluate process control and capability.
  • Troubleshoot out of control conditions, machine deficiencies and product non-conformities.
  • Responsible for new mold start up, sampling, process trouble shooting, optimizing cycles and set-ups as well as performing molding and machine safety checks.
  • Assist with mold/color changes
  • Develop process improvements through employee involvement and support all plant continuous improvement efforts as assigned.
  • As required provide leadership and direction to production employees by actively working with and effectively communicating to ensure quality product.
  • Function as a Team Member of the Shift Technical Team, supporting processing and quality needs in a Lean Environment Actively participate in and support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s documented quality system as appropriate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Ensure strict compliance with plant housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain a plant culture that embraces the values of honesty, trust, mutual respect, employee involvement and flexibility.

Qualifications Desired:

  • High School degree required, some college a plus.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Hands-on processing skills including new mold startup, sampling, troubleshooting, optimizing cycles, set-ups.
  • Experienced with wide range of molding machines – 500 – 3500 ton presses.
  • Experience with class A surface parts and color a plus.
