Maintenance Technician

We have an opening for a Maintenance Technician at its Bowling Green, Ohio facility.

Maintenance Technician Requirements:
•5+ years of manufacturing and facilities maintenance, preferably in automotive parts manufacturing and/or blow molding required
•Must have basic experience in programming/troubleshooting A-B PLC controlled systems
•Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair in the following areas: electrical/electronic systems, and pneumatics
•Strong background in hydraulic systems repair/troubleshooting is required
•Must be able to work a 12-hour shift (two days on, two days off and every other weekend) schedule, 7 a.m .- 7 p.m.

Quality Manager

TMD has located a new injection and blow molding plant in Fayetteville, Tennessee. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality manager to join our team.

The Quality Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the overall development and administration of Quality resources within the plant. Through input from customer, supplier, Division, and plant staff, the Quality Manager will allocate manpower resources to project teams and programs.

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing and reviewing process controls, emphasizing customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and waste reduction. Measurement systems and inspection techniques are to be developed and maintained to advance Quality Department goals and objectives in support of plant goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and track Quality department goals and objectives
  • Determine Quality department standards, practices, and procedures
  • Establish and maintain product Quality Standards
  • Track external customer Quality issues, e.g. concerns, rejections, PPM, and 8D problem solving
  • Track internal customer Quality issues, e.g. Rejection Tags and Process Alerts
  • Track supplier Quality issues and performance
  • Support plant safety procedures and safety policies
  • Direct QA personnel regarding performance and material testing
  • Allocate Quality resources to project teams, programs, and manufacturing process improvement teams
  • Assist in daily review of production quality performance
  • Assist Production to achieve effective and efficient production of quality parts
  • Schedule and chair regular Quality Review meetings to Appraise Management of Quality Dept. issues to ensure suitability and effectiveness of Quality System
  • Work with Engineering to develop project launch strategy, capital needs, program timing in support of all APQP, PPAP, MSA and TS-16949 requirements
  • Work with Quality Engineers and Quality Coordinators to document trends in quality, compare against customer standards and plant goals
  • Support advance Quality activities, elements and schedules
  • Represent Fayetteville plant at the customer in the area of Quality
  • Develop short and long term strategy to support customer requirements, as required
  • Primary responsibility for implementation and maintenance of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 quality systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – technical required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Automotive industry experience managing within a TS certified quality system.
  • High product launch exposure a plus.
  • Plastics experience preferred.

Process Technician

The Process Technician will be responsible for providing technical support for all aspects of production. Responsibility for new products begins with the first production build via customer production releases.

The primary responsibilities will be to troubleshoot injection and blow molding process and make adjustments to the process to increase overall quality and productivity goals as established thereby obtaining optimum productivity and quality levels while complying with customer specifications.

In addition, the Process Technician will assist in achieving product target cost; improve efficiency, identifying possible production problems for existing products. Monitor the input and output variables of the process, including advanced product inspection, optimizing product and process quality consistent with the company’s Total Quality Systems, procedures and customer requirements.

Job Functions

  • Support and enforce with consistency the plant safety process and rules, local labor agreement and Toledo Molding & Die policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for all pre-production builds requiring components and/or services from the manufacturing site.
  • Assist with training of both technical and production in processing standards.
  • Ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications and approved processes.
  • Assure that production schedules are met. Act with a high sense of urgency, in particular with respect to customer needs.
  • Achieve project expectation and requirements for all elements of PPAP, TS16949 and ISO 14000.
  • Weekly program status reports (i.e., performance, open items, corrective action plans, etc.).
  • Maintain technical log for product/processes assigned, as required.
  • Maintain records for primary tools (molds) and selected secondary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot injection molding process and correct where deviant. Adjust closed-loop process control systems where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot robotic unloading; provide enhancements to increase robot system efficiency and performance.
  • Enhance the process to increase cycle efficiency, press performance, tool performance, operator performance, and material performance.
  • Troubleshoot issues with secondary equipment (post molding assembly)
  • Provide technical instructions to maintain part stability.
  • Provide detailed and structured documentation of process corrections and enhancements as required and/or assigned.
  • Measure outputs and evaluate process control and capability.
  • Troubleshoot out of control conditions, machine deficiencies and product non-conformities.
  • Responsible for new mold start up, sampling, process trouble shooting, optimizing cycles and set-ups as well as performing molding and machine safety checks.
  • Assist with mold/color changes
  • Develop process improvements through employee involvement and support all plant continuous improvement efforts as assigned.
  • As required provide leadership and direction to production employees by actively working with and effectively communicating to ensure quality product.
  • Function as a Team Member of the Shift Technical Team, supporting processing and quality needs in a Lean Environment Actively participate in and support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s documented quality system as appropriate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Ensure strict compliance with plant housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain a plant culture that embraces the values of honesty, trust, mutual respect, employee involvement and flexibility.

Qualifications Desired:

  • High School degree required, some college a plus.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor will work directly with the production employees, maintenance / tool & die set personnel and the management team to ensure the successful production of the customer’s part per the customer’s requirements. The supervisor will interface with the hourly workforce to develop a team atmosphere while insuring that company policies, procedures and regulations are consistently upheld.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the establishing capital needs, developing project timing, reviewing employees’ performance, employee involvement and appropriate communications relating to employee concerns.

Job Functions

Tool & Die Maker

We have an excellent opportunity for experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our start-up team in establishing our presence in Wisconsin. Toledo Molding and Die will be supplying the Fiat-Chrysler assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois.

The successful candidate must be capable of reading and analyzing blue prints or sketches in order to maintain/repair injection molds, design and fabricate gages, jigs and fixtures. Must be experienced in new mold startup, sampling, troubleshooting, optimizing cycles and be experienced with a wide range of molding machines (150 – 3500 ton presses). The successful candidate shall maintain an understanding of current technology as related to job responsibilities. Good communication skills are a must.

Materials Supervisor

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced materials supervisor to join our team in Jefferson, OH. The position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the monitoring the daily material flow of the facility including inbound material and production of material ensuring uninterrupted material delivery and continuous production.

•Supervise, motivate and lead all functions relating to production of parts and receipt of material to ensure customer demands are being met.
•Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop and train team members to enhance the department.
•Establish and maintain business practices, procedures and documentation that ensure control of supplier releases, incoming material shipments, inventory levels, and production plans.
•Maintain production planning, inventory levels, safety stock and various key data fields that drive master planning are up to date in ERP system.

Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for their assigned manufacturing processes and new product launch project management. Through input from the customer, corporate support groups, plant staff, and production employees the Manufacturing Engineer will review process controls, emphasize continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing methodology and Kaizen activities, participate in the development of cell layouts, set up reduction (SMED), lead time reduction and improve productivity through waste reduction. In addition the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for achieving product target cost, improved efficiency and identifying possible production problems for existing products within their scope of accountability.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be involved with helping to determine project capital needs, launch strategies, project timing, process flows, labor and machine standards as well as proposed plans for changes to the process, equipment, molds, and tooling to ensure reliability and compatibility with existing Toledo Molding and Die standards/systems.

Job Functions:
•Support and maintain project time line

Maintenance Technician

TMD Delphos Plant is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians as a result of recent business expansions. Individual responsibilities include general repair and preventative maintenance on plastic injection molding presses, as well as auxiliary equipment. 

 Successful candidates must possess previous experience with changing injection molding tools, plastics processing, electrical wiring including 240 and 480 volt, pneumatics, hydraulics and programmable logic controllers.  Candidates should also possess vocational or technical certification in Mechanical/Industrial areas. Successful applicants should have a work history that includes good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work within a diverse group as a Team Player. Applicants must be willing to work the afternoon or midnight shifts.
